I was in northeastern Wisconsin, where it was so dark we could see the Milky Way with our eyes. Among the stars we did see many planes, but they were so far above us that we could not hear them at all. Gave me a new appreciation for “flyover country”

I wish it had rested happily! In fact it crisply alit, cocked its head to peruse the seeds in my palm, selected one with its beak, & flew off. You’d think I would have felt it push against my fingers to take off, but no, it was so light it exerted no perceptible downward pressure
