Your charitable donations are going to feed pizza to someone with a $120,000 salary.

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

So they can beat up protestors and kidnap citizens, yup yup.

If you weren't already convinced that the Salvation Army are the bad guys, add this to your list and skip the red buckets this holiday season!

Donate to your local food pantry or Loaves & Fishes instead.

Ok but what silly goose picked *here* for all this? Like. If you can pick your final bosses, adding the Pope & the Catholic Church to the list seems ill considered, at best.

Sometimes I feel like it's deliberate, internal sabotage. And sometimes I feel like they just lack critical thinking skills.

A lot of the adults I know never learned. But also. Scratch cooking takes a stocked pantry & fridge, which also adds meal planning & grocery shopping onto that 'just 20 minutes!'

Add in choosing recipes, and learning techniques for folks who don't already have skills? It's a lot more hours.

Indeed. I think we got our first one in 2013. Husband immediately designed a part to fix our school's Ladybug projectors, which broke pretty easily & were $1000 to replace. He fixed seven of them the first year.

We still routinely solve problems at school & home

we have an inexpensive thing in our house right now that makes other little useful things and yet everyone’s boss isn’t demanding everyone get 3D printers - curious!!
larunasoftpaw.bsky.social
Speaking of, why didn't 3D printers get this much attention? It's something that's actually really cool that has practical applications. Is it because they're too cool and useful? Is it because it's harder to scam people with them?

We need to start referring to tariffs as Trump Taxes.

There's a tiger?! So fun! I know nothing about this except my patrons are obsessed 😹

Ok well my college kid who is the Music Guy actually hasn't seen it yet (shocked!!) so I probably even have a watch buddy 💚
catblossom.bsky.social
The way my students keep asking for all things related. And now it has a banger soundtrack as well?

I'm actually going to have to watch this, aren't I? 😹
mostlybree.kitrocha.com
I don't have any kids and I never watch animated movies and I have listened to nothing else for like 3 weeks. 😭🤣

I swear this is not just because I’m the father of a five year old girl but the k-pop demon hunters soundtrack has got to be the pop record of the year, right? it’s like, weaponized pop production. violating the nuclear non-proliferation treaty pop production

He helped shape Bluesky’s early culture of accessibility.

My students and I think you are incredibly notable 😍💚

We love This Land with our whole hearts - but it especially resonates with my students who live on tribal land that was recently restored. It has a special significance!
catblossom.bsky.social
Well you're a huge celebrity in *our* library, so...💚

(Pretty sure we're not alone in that opinion, either!)

Celebrate Anti-Prime days by supporting your local bookstore 💚 The big, evil A is a corporation that sees you as a commodity. At your local bookstore, you're a neighbor.

You're supporting more than just the store!
catblossom.bsky.social
and I was never able to do one before we had an amazing bookstore partner in town. It sure isn't the big, evil A helping my readers see themselves as writers + illustrators!

Plus it's a place to browse, have a tea, and an in-person book club 💚

Bookstores are community hubs. Don't let them vanish!
catblossom.bsky.social
LOL basically every weekend is indie bookstore weekend at our house (yes, we have a problem 😹) but I encourage EVERYONE to support their local bookstores!

They are so much more than just books...

Our local helps me bring author visits to my students. These are literally worth *thousands* --

What a lovely message from @bookshop.org. Glad to see them growing and growing. We CAN claim back what has been taken from us by these monstrous corporations, and it starts with things like this. Grab some books these next couple days!

“I never thought federal officers could behave this way. I really didn’t,” she said. “I always thought people must be provoking them or something, that they would never do this unprovoked. Obviously, I was wrong.”

I think this is an important read. This could be my own parents - NOT 'antifa,' NOT aggro. Just a couple octogenarians, one a Vietnam vet, who are concerned about the state of our country.

Will they be the next brutalized by our own forces in their small Oregon town?

SHOCKING. OUTRAGEOUS.

An 84-year-old said she sustained a concussion and was hit with a projectile after she and her husband, a Vietnam vet, were knocked down by federal officers.

Covid & flu boosters acquired yesterday. A little case of the oof today. But I do not want Holiday Covid again this year, so we're doing what we can to prevent 💚
catblossom.bsky.social
Oh, gattino. You are the same sort of incautious in any language 😭

There is absolutely a time and place for helping everyone find their way to the public library. Whether it's for workarounds to book bans, essential services they may not know they have access to, or even just taking advantage of their tax dollars and ditching a $$$ Audible sub.

It's just not here.
catblossom.bsky.social
The point here is that we need people protesting this with us.

It's not 'complaining' - it's asking people to advocate for children. Which many can't and won't do if they do not see it as a real problem.

Presenting alternative access in these threads just gives them more fuel for 'eh, it's fine.'
catblossom.bsky.social
That's literally the whole deal. Instead of saying 'well it can't be ME!' - stop and interrogate why much of feminism *doesn't* feel inclusive to non-white women. And then start working on changing that. Because feminism should be for all of us.

Intersectionality is key.
