Ok but what silly goose picked *here* for all this? Like. If you can pick your final bosses, adding the Pope & the Catholic Church to the list seems ill considered, at best.

Sometimes I feel like it's deliberate, internal sabotage. And sometimes I feel like they just lack critical thinking skills.

A lot of the adults I know never learned. But also. Scratch cooking takes a stocked pantry & fridge, which also adds meal planning & grocery shopping onto that 'just 20 minutes!'

Add in choosing recipes, and learning techniques for folks who don't already have skills? It's a lot more hours.

Indeed. I think we got our first one in 2013. Husband immediately designed a part to fix our school's Ladybug projectors, which broke pretty easily & were $1000 to replace. He fixed seven of them the first year.

We still routinely solve problems at school & home

we have an inexpensive thing in our house right now that makes other little useful things and yet everyone’s boss isn’t demanding everyone get 3D printers - curious!!

Speaking of, why didn't 3D printers get this much attention? It's something that's actually really cool that has practical applications. Is it because they're too cool and useful? Is it because it's harder to scam people with them?

and I was never able to do one before we had an amazing bookstore partner in town. It sure isn't the big, evil A helping my readers see themselves as writers + illustrators!

Plus it's a place to browse, have a tea, and an in-person book club 💚

Bookstores are community hubs. Don't let them vanish!

LOL basically every weekend is indie bookstore weekend at our house (yes, we have a problem 😹) but I encourage EVERYONE to support their local bookstores!

They are so much more than just books...

Our local helps me bring author visits to my students. These are literally worth *thousands* --

There is absolutely a time and place for helping everyone find their way to the public library. Whether it's for workarounds to book bans, essential services they may not know they have access to, or even just taking advantage of their tax dollars and ditching a $$$ Audible sub.

It's just not here.

The point here is that we need people protesting this with us.

It's not 'complaining' - it's asking people to advocate for children. Which many can't and won't do if they do not see it as a real problem.

Presenting alternative access in these threads just gives them more fuel for 'eh, it's fine.'

That's literally the whole deal. Instead of saying 'well it can't be ME!' - stop and interrogate why much of feminism *doesn't* feel inclusive to non-white women. And then start working on changing that. Because feminism should be for all of us.

Intersectionality is key.
