I (AB) selected this one not just because the protagonist IS a woman and a scientist being discounted for multiple reasons, but because it was knowledge garnered through womanly interactions and experiences (also important)that saved the day when logic and mathematics didn’t quite work in real time.

This historical graphic novel follows a Filipino boy coming to terms with being gay in the 90s. It's a rough experience, of course, which is why they ban this book. So much so it's the 10th most challenged book of the last school year!
