This is def a frustration i felt with the game too, like exploration feels at odds with parkour-ing through a level, its why i could never really get in to Sonic games too

And the levels felt too big to easily commit routes to memory, making replaying for better score too frustrating for me

I keep thinking about "3D impressionism" as a much needed term for the way we think about art direction in games

To me measuring how "better" or "worse" the graphics are only in terms of their relation to reality is like claiming the photo of a street in Arles is objectively superior to Van Gogh

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

The unfortunate side-effect of Silksong being relatively cheap is that you'll get idiots calling every indie game that costs a similar amount and isn't 30+ hours long a rip-off.
Guy who thinks Hollow Knight means those decorative suits of armor people have around castles
3pm on Steam i believe so maybe the same

No but it would be sooooooo funny if silksong is to HK what DS2 was to DS1
I've been thinking about this a lot actually and I do think there's pros/ cons, like its great that they don't "need" money from the game so can charge what they want for it, but also it creates an unfair comparison and competition for indie devs who really do need their sales revenue to survive
Has anyone got a halfway decent answer to the thought experiment of "ethical landlord" yet? I just cant think of a type of landlord that doesn't make the world a demonstrably worse place to live

I cant deep how evil and soulless of a "job" it is too much or i just stunlock myself out of anger lmao

The shift in Windows/ Microsoft ux design from "customise this pretty much however you want" to "now it just works like this fuck you" is crazy why did we let them get away with this

As the AI bubble starts to burst, I am hoping the tech and finance worlds can focus on the true future of technology: buying and selling digital pictures of apes in funny outfits for several hundred thousand dollars
