"Nathan Gill isn’t some postscript to a minor episode of recent British history. He’s a key to understanding the scale and sophistication of the threat against us, a network of pro-Russian actors that stretches not only across the Atlantic but Europe too."

Amazing to remember Mahmood once boasted: "We lay down in the street and we lay down inside Sainsbury's to say we object to them stocking goods from illegal settlements – and that they must stop. We managed to close down that store at peak time on a Saturday. This is how we can make a difference."

Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

Goldman Sachs warns Rachel Reeves against tax rises on banks.

Banks happy to be bailed out, take QE, mis-sell products, not to be prosecuted for frauds, hike charges, pay lousy rates on savings.

Need windfall taxes. Raise top rate of income tax.
Goldman chief delivers warning to Reeves over bank tax hikes
David Solomon urged the chancellor during a private meeting last week not to hit the industry with savage tax rises in her crucial budget statement next month, Sky News learns.

As another Jewish woman in the industry, I can clear this up: It's due to her being an asshole.

Fox News host Emily Compagno claims that the backlash to Bari Weiss being named CBS News editor-in-chief is due to her being Jewish:

"This kind of thing would make me laugh if there was not an antisemitic thread in there."

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

No no. No, we won't be doing that. We won't be brushing the last two years under the carpet just because there is a current ceasefire. This is appalling, Israel should not be allowed to participate until Palestine is free and Netanyahu is behind bars for war crimes, where he belongs.

Could someone at the FT just remind the subs that there is no such thing as a "bat tunnel"; there is an above ground structure. The tunnels which added so much to the cost of HS2 are entirely because of Chilterns homeowners and their elected representatives, not bats

CBS News would never put a thinly sourced 'story' by a rookie blogger like this on it's air. Until now. The Free Press isn't a journalism outlet, it's bloggers aren't reporters. This piece is more NYPost than Tiffany Network but I guess that's the goal.

Is there a more hated politician of her era than Thatcher? I know she is also adored and admired, but does anyone arouse similar or greater hatred? My suspicion is not, though I may partly be showing that I am a product of the society that endured her. I don’t think, say, Reagan does.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
