any post that includes #bikenyc will appear in this feed. the benefit over searching the hashtag is twofold:

you can pin the feed. but more importantly, if you enable “show posts from my feeds” in your following feed preferences, bluesky will regularly blend #bikenyc posts into your following feed.

obviously we’re talking news and not bicycles but you can carry the lesson from this post over to any feed you subscribe to. it’s a killer feature.

not all national news orgs are created equal either. @nytimes.com and @washingtonpost.com really are on another level when it comes to their social even if the median user on here hates their guts.

there’s trending topics in the search tab and I think you can explicitly set your interests so it shows news trends more often. but yeah it sounds like you should just follow more news accounts. I get my fix. almost every publication is on here now.

Have you ever been lost in a video game level, wandering empty halls, until you know you're going the right way because you finally run into enemies? Because you don't know what to do without conflict? Well some people live their real lives that way

the status quo created the housing crisis. why would Adrienne Adams defend a system with high rents and tenant displacement?

Ballot proposals 2, 3 and 4 take power away from everyday New Yorkers, giving it to unelected mayoral appointees and developers. Don’t be misled to give away your community’s power. Learn more at whatsonmyballot.nyc

very, very upsetting to see the NYC city council is spending my taxpayer dollars on NIMBY propaganda mailers against the pro-housing initiatives.

Vote YES on props 2-5!

also v stupid that they’re tying the initiatives to Eric Adams when they won’t go into effect until 2026 when Zohran is mayor!

PROPOSALS 2, 3 + 4 hide that they take away your power.
We need more housing, but giving away our power to developers leads to
