Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

The Education Department has hired at least 9 people from the America First Policy Institute, co-founded by Secretary Linda McMahon.

The think tank’s listed goals include ending the separation of church and state and “plant[ing] Jesus in every space.”

There’s only one way to explain why questions like “who do NYC voters like for mayor,” and “what do San Franciscans think about George Washington,” become national issues that define the Democratic Party, while genuine Republican extremism with national implications is glossed over as a local issue.
The whole state of Idaho banning all vaccine mandates should be bigger news! If you want your grandmother's nursing home or your daughter's day care to require nurses and teachers to vaccinate, you literally can't! None of them are allowed to require that.

Advocates say some tactics used by officers to target Latinos in Trump’s deportation effort draw from Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s playbook.

“The model was Maricopa County — the very public, very humiliating, demoralizing approach to the raids, and the cruelty.”

This County Was the “Model” for Local Police Carrying Out Immigration Raids. It Ended in Civil Rights Violations.
Under Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County was one of the first testing grounds for ICE’s 287(g) program, which lets local police enforce immigration laws. Many Arizonans say those abuses parallel…

On this episode of The Rick Smith Show, Rick welcomes Raw Story reporter Sarah Burris to break down the weekend’s top stories, including Trump’s controversial Great Gatsby Ball at MAGA-Lago. The lavish “Roaring ’20s” party drew widespread criticism for its opulence and timing, as millions of Americans lost SNAP food benefits amid the government shutdown. Later, Katrina Golden, small business owner of Lil' Mama's Sweets and Treats in Augusta, Georgia, joins Rick to explain the vital role ACA subsidies play in helping entrepreneurs afford healthcare, keep their doors open, and support workers in tough economic times. Don’t miss our daily TV show on Free Speech TV: www.freespeech.org Find us on: · DirecTV (Channel 348) · Dish (Channel 269) · Sling · Roku · Apple TV · Amazon Fire TV · Get the FSTV iOS app HERE Did you miss last night’s show? i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

It’s Election Day with critical races in several states. This is the first general election where voters get to tell Donald Trump what they think of him so far. Don’t miss your chance to make your voice heard! Vote like your country depends on it. Because it does.

No, CBS will not settle any lawsuits against them that people may bring for editing out over half of Trump’s interview since none of you are in a position of power to approve their merger with any other media companies.
