Feels quaint, almost cliché, to say this about a Trump action, but just for the record:

This is all illegal, the President can't simply disregard the laws passed and agencies created by Congress, and both Vought & Trump would be impeached if the Constitution or the rule of law mattered to the GOP.

Chicago news media has been excellent. Bill is right, CST/WBEZ have done stellar work, but it’s pretty much all of them: The Tribune, Block Club Chicago, the local TV affiliates, local independent journalists, even some of the Chicago bureaus of nat’l media.

The fear among residents and workers, both documented and undocumented, is palpable, he said. Residents are scared to open their doors for maintenance workers, and it has become harder to schedule repairs with his work force.
Other property managers and owners said workers are not showing up at job sites - frightened by ICE — and it's causing delays on building repairs and maintenance. Some residents are not able to pay rent on time as they are holed up at home, too afraid to go to work with federal agents popping up throughout the city.
This adds to the already rising business costs for building owners and managers, some who say they are eating the increased expenses connected to ICE raids. But if the enforcement activity continues into the busy spring moving season, property managers and owners like Warren said they may have to increase rents to recoup some of their costs.

Reporters who cover the Pentagon tend to be serious journalists who have spent years covering one of the largest, most complex bureaucracies in the world.

They rarely appear on camera. Most of their names are not commonly known.

Fox News, along with ABC, CBS and NBC, did not sign the Defense Department's press policy by Tuesday's deadline, having earlier in the day denounced the new regulations in a joint statement that included CNN, which previously said it would not sign.
"Today, we join virtually every other news organization in declining to agree to the Pentagon's new requirements, which would restrict journalists' ability to keep the nation and the world informed of important national security issues," the news networks wrote. "The policy is without precedent and threatens core journalistic protections. We will continue to cover the U.S. military as each of our organizations has done for many decades, upholding the principles of a free and independent press."
Fox's dissent is notable considering the Trump-friendly views of many of its opinion hosts, whose ranks previously included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
