The flume has a constant inflow trickle of water and a standpipe to maintain the water level and to keep it clear for the lasers. That flows out through a bespoke floor tank and drainage system but nobody knew where it tied into the mains. So a clog somewhere below that could cause water to back up.

The medication stockpile bill is the bill I had pegged this year as the most important kind of bill to pass given federal threats, with a short time window to make it happen. Washington passed the same bill earlier this year.

It's so shameful for Newsom to veto this bill.

1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.
