The Spectator (owned by GBNews owner Paul Marshall - estimated wealth of £800 million) doesn’t like taxing wealth fairly.

I wonder how they got to this editorial decision?

Let’s tax wealth fairly, fund front line services & make hope normal again.

Polanski is talking nonsense about wealth taxes.

Quite a bodying, here, for the UK, from the Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe.

🏮 He points out the Supreme Court ignored human rights (which breaches its legal obligations)
🏮 He says, in effect agreeing with Lucy Powell, Parliament should be involved...

UNRWA’s humanitarian supplies are sitting in warehouses outside #Gaza - banned from entering by Israeli Authorities.

We have enough food for the entire population for 3 months stuck in Egypt & Jordan.

There’s no more time to lose - we need a green light to start bringing in UNRWA’s aid immediately

soz lads but if you're still on X you're feeding into Musk's wealth which is being used to fund Tommy Two Names' legal fees, and if you still continue using X, you're fine with that

This is brilliant to see and something I've been saying is needed for a long time.

I'm not normally a fan of the internet of things but this is one purpose where it should be very useful.

It looks like one branch of that C51 is going to the canal. The bridge there, and the state of the tow path (dark, flooded, broken pavers) is extremely hostile to cycling.

Also applies to the proposed (and currently being challenged) routes to avoid Oxford St when it becomes pedestrianised.

Bravo. Wow, that is a murder strip if ever there was one.

The teen is studying for her driving licence. I'm interested to read the common idea it is okay to cross continuous lines if overtaking a user doing less than 11 mph is wrong. That dispensation only applies to road-working vehs doing 11 mph.

One of my childhood friends was named Ruarí because his mother hated the way kids always change names to Mickey, Johnny, Davey, etc.

Of course on the street we called him Rur.

Interesting, the motor has been moved to the rear wheel.

Admittedly I've not tried the FWD version but somehow this feels more right.

To all you patriots (and UK authorities)

Is this not political interference of the most egregious and socially divisive kind?

This is great news. We've hired the classicist Spencer Klavan to teach at New College of Florida. Goodbye gender studies; hello, Greek literature.

Truly excited to be teaching an online survey course in Greek literature this fall semester @NewCollegeofFL. Even more excited that it's open to the public. Please join in here! We'll be reading Homer, Aeschylus, Aristophanes, and lots more.

I had a similar experience with an electrician on the eve of the Brexit vote. He was going to vote leave cos 'it's the NHS innit?'

Five minutes explaining things to him and he voted Remain. He commiserated with me the day after but said 'oh well, at least we voted the right way'.

Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

With the average new car at $50,000, let's look at the real costs of "freedom":

✅ Decades of debt
✅ Social isolation for every trip
✅ A leading cause of death & injury

Car dependency is a financially and socially crippling system, not a choice.
