I'm new to Bluesky as of 26 August 25. I like old tymes and natural thynges. That's my mom's old green stuff jello mold recipe and a 1790s New England canal remnant that lost most of itself to the river.

I referred to the 1919 GS, also the Philadelphia one

Haymarket is a demonstration with violence + false accusations resulting in the need for posthumous pardons

Haymarket is similar to Ludlow to Matewan to Bonus Army

but the main ones I've referred to are GS

not sure what your point is here
During the period 1870-1937 there were countless strikes of all sizes, across a variety of sectors.
We've had legal unions since Commonwealth v. Hunt 1840s--that is how long Americans have been striking in large numbers.
Railroad and Pullman workers strikes late 1800s; Philly 1830s is called PHILADELPHIA GENERAL STRIKE; Lowell Factory Girls 1830s--led to the USSC ruling in favor of right to organize; general strike across US in 1919.
brits are pretty snotty
they have a real king
they have a prince who pedos around with trump and epstein
their current king was engaged to a 19 y.o. but the brits love it
farage and brexit
slavery and empire for centuries longer than america has existed

yea, lots better than america
part of why he resigned is because Americans had been violent for a decade prior to resignation
watts and other cities repeatedly war zones
kent state
kkk and civil rights violence with dogs and hoses and guns
black panthers formed because the other way took too long

what it really takes is scary
nixon WAS NOT impeached by the house of representatives

nixon resigned because the american public had been violent for a decade and it was only getting worse

americans don't know our history and it very much shows
i feel sorry for nonhumans
the government picture you paint matches the citizenry on the ground

americans are not serious about overthrowing this regime

it is offensive to hear "protestors" giddy and silly about protests as some rave or taylor swift concert

yes, i know it must be attractive

THAT's the problem
be sure to do something about this that doesn't call for a general strike or anything else that requires voluntary discomfort + even remotely resembles what was effective resistance in the past
what got us the liberties we're losing today certainly is NOT effective at regaining our lost liberty
general strikes are radical?

tell that to Americans in the 1800s and early 1900s

you know?
all the ones who did general strikes so we wouldn't have to today

oops, we insulted our striking ancestors and let it slip away, didn't we?
participating in a GS has great costs which is why there's outcry against GS

many understand that past general work stoppage caused great changes that we enjoy the benefits of today

blow up costumes + glitter are not what got us Emancipation, worker's comp, or the right to collective bargain
maybe for some it isn't that GS is the only form of effective protest, but GS is something not tried yet and what we've been doing isn't really working

GS in America's past have been effective

the push back against them is telling
it shows Americans still are not ready to put it on the line

Rebellion became republic.

Power yields only when people stand, not when they bow. ✊

New in PN: How the Supreme Court taught Trump to rewrite history

"If you’re wondering where Trump learned the trick of recasting American history as uniquely belonging to him, look no further than the current Supreme Court’s manipulation of the core legal principle of stare decisis."

here's a member of Congress explaining how SNAP benefits will not be distributed after November 1st if government is still shut down by then ⤵️
The Nazi regime in DC has now decided that American families who rely on SNAP benefits will not be eating in November.

Yes, you read that right.

No food for Thanksgiving.

Because Nazi republicans in power don't want anyone to see the Epstein files.

I have a friend who is a single mom who works full time and now spends her Sunday afternoons doing grocery runs for her undocumented neighbors. She's gone from 1 person to now 8 families in just a matter of weeks. Everyone can do something.
