Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's Dumpson from The Brave Police J-Decker!
A red, gold, and white sentient mecha holds dumbbells aggressively, with a determined expression. He is the Wrestling Detective, Dumpson.

Plus showing that you are NEVER ALONE IN REAL LIFE.

Somebody’s out there for you.
in a sense, ssss gridman is a show about the desire for stability.

shaking the srw team to realize what i did which is that there's a 75% chance lagrange's space kingdom of Polyhedron is probably a deliberate reference to l-gaim's space kingdom of Pentagona. its literally the same Holy Crystal Space Empire Named After Shapes

everyone hates these kids but i like 'em, they look so fucking doofy to the point it becomes endearing.
Reached the point of Combattler V where they introduced a family of silly characters and

Ok the writing of the episode was annoying, but I want to point out how these characters' designs don't even feel like they belong in Combattler V

They feel like they are from a different show altogether
to be honest, i think a lot of people can do taniguchi's schtick better than him.
every time tomino remembers how zambot 3 was overshadowed by voltes and got cancelled he has bright noa fall down the stairs.
i really hope the "bright noa being based off tadao nagahama" thing is true because it makes the direction tomino took with his character that much funnier.
kyoshiro: nana, you're like the younger brother that i've never had.

nana: but… i'm a girl?

kyoshiro: confucius said, "better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without".

nah you're not a weirdo you're chill.
anyone who considers themselves a "chill seasoned mecha fan" is probably not someone you should trust.

Given how much I can relate with Akane in SSSS. GRIDMAN, I feel like that is what makes Kerib such an intimidating villain to me.

Like, he's a manipulative smooth talker who will tell you exactly what you want to hear in a way that seems he is genuinely on your side.

Aura Battler Dunbine has won me over. Just saw a guy recite a death poem before being crushed to death by the fiery rubble of his castle.
in a sense, ssss gridman is a show about the desire for stability.
one of the most popular shonen battle series right now is a chainsaw man, a manga set in the 90's after the economic collapse where the main character is a boy whose's goals are as low-reaching and bare minimum as you could get but he fights for them with utmost passion.
the gridman alliance's dynamic in a way serves as a commentary on this, yuta is a henshin hero surrounded by peers uncertain of what they want in a world that feels artificial and one which has already slotted them into 'roles'. i won't go any further because *spoilers*, but it is interesting.
it's reflected even in the power fantasy isekaislop aimed at teen boys, instead of rising up and overthrowing the oppressive systems or reaching enlightenment- the fantasy is living in a nice cabin free from worries.
teens today are far more apathetic and emotionally distant in part due to a general sense of nihilism surrounding the future. the bubble popped, you're expected to work and find a job until you die. maybe you'll buy a house or get a partner if you're lucky.
i genuinely believe a character like koji kabuto wouldn't be the main lead of a manga that earnestly aims to speak to the current young generation, because the kind of youth that he represented in the 70's simply does not exist anymore.
seeing a lot of people start watching ssss gridman for the first time and some of their reactions got me pontificating on how youth culture and behaviour has changed since the showa era and the way it's subsequently been portrayed in the anime landscape.

this is probably also what draws me so much to GUNxSWORD -- it is a show that nakedly and stridently says that anyone who offers you self-sacrifice as a path out of despair is not your fucking friend (it is much like cross ange in this respect, actually)
