Mostly an Arsenal account, but gets dragged into politics because the world is batshit-crazy.

Yet that angle wasn’t played for the ref I during the infield review… the other one was played about a dozen times though…

This is last season’s “delaying a restart” when it comes to Arsenal. No other team will suffer these calls this season. Certainly not twice in rapid succession.

I swear these refs must eat a bottle of viagra before matches against Arsenal they want to fuck us so badly.
After going to VAR, Anthony Taylor decides not to award Arsenal a penalty against Fulham.
If ‘playing like that’ = on an off day, with key injuries, yet the opponent has literally 0 shots on target as well as us hitting 1.88 xg & having 3 credible penalty shouts, 1 of which is awarded by the referee then that’s sustainable & the vast majority of times we win the game & will land the PL.
He was basically bear hugged in the penalty box at one point too. Don’t worry though, VAR had a look and decided it was fine.

[OptaJoe] 0 - Arsenal haven't faced a shot on target in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since November in their last title winning season of 2003-04, with the second game in that run also coming against Fulham. Bouncers. #FULARS https://redd.it/1oa3raj

Apart from anything else, this is really interfering with that lunatic Slot’s set-piece goal statistic quotes!!
That’s already the 2nd PL game this season VAR has re-reffed & advised a ref to review/overturn a correctly-awarded Arsenal penalty. 25% of our games. PGMOL at it again… ‘good process’.
🤣 indeed! At least they aren’t just randomly sending our players off repeatedly, yet!

Slightly more considered response; this is the 2nd time already this season VAR has stepped in to advise the ref to overturn a correct penalty decision that’s gone Arsenal’s way. 25% of games we’ve been denied legit pens. Shows how accustomed to being shafted we are you think that’s an improvement!
Yep, that, & I want to know what tf they’re doing getting involved in the 1st place?! It is a correct on-field decision. That, by definition, can’t be a clear & obvious error however they try & dress it up.

And which angle did they show the ref to make him subsequently make an erroneous decision?!
The post-match replays are far more conclusive. Knee to knee contact occurs before any touch on the ball. How is a clear penalty being overturned?! Disgusting make-it-up-as-we-go-along-to-fuck-over-Arsenal BS.
No fucking way can anyone tell whether the contact with the ball was made before, at the same time, or after his knee catches Saka. Even after a dozen replays. Just go with on field decision ffs. What happened to not re-refereeing?!
The replays show clear knee on knee contact before a touch on the ball. How tf does anyone justify VAR suggesting the ref go to the TV to over turn the decision?!

There's an argument that if you have to watch it that many times, and it clearly is knee to knee first then foot to ball after, it's not a clear and obvious error.
Kevin hits Saka's knee first before he gets a small touch on the ball, but that's probably going to be overturned.
We didn’t get 9 in the 1st half, despite a disallowed goal, time wasting from Fulham, multiple ‘head injuries’ and several breaks for injuries and a couple of multi-minute massages.

All I'm learning from these VAR reviews is that PGMOL absolutely considers awarding Arsenal a penalty as a clear and obvious error.

Refs being persuaded they're wrong is extremely not why VAR exists*

*so we are told

Lee Dixon is 100% wrong. There is significant contact high up on Bukayo Saka's leg before any contact is made on the ball.

This is ridiculous. This is re-refereeing the game. Again.
Oh *now* there’s 9 mins added?! Ffs

Remember clear and obvious error is the standard
If that was against us there’s not a fucking chance the pen gets cancelled. And it’s about consistency. That’s not how VAR is supposed to be used.

What did he do? Take boxes and boxes of classified documents to Mar-a-Lago?? Oh.
