Byers makes a comment about ICE not targeting "actual, professional journalists."

"You're making a distinction among journalists?" Ellis asks.

"There's people with cell phones, calling themselves journalists," Byers responds.
Singing at a funeral today for a neighbor who was my bishop back when I was a teenager. It's a double quartet. Rather an unexpected privilege to be included with this group for such a significant occasion.
It's grading day for the first quarter, so of course Canvas is down.
Somebody find a nearby kneecap photographer.

LIVE WEAPONS OVER FREEWAY what a totally normal, non dystopian sign, cool, cool.
Wait wait wait they did their stupid stunt and managed to SHELL A COP?
An artillery shell fired during 250th anniversary celebration of the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton on Saturday detonated prematurely over Interstate 5, damaging a California Highway Patrol vehicle on JD Vance's security detail www.nytimes.com/2025/10/19/u...
I just got called as the ward music coordinator so now I'm in charge of our Christmas program, among other things. It's been close to a year since I was released from the last one, so it's good to have an assignment again.
Heard a straight faced comment in Sunday school today citing online "exmo" influence as a serious source of ongoing persecution towards the church. This is how I know there is someone else in that class who spends too much time online.
Millions of citizens peacefully and often joyfully bearing it's flag in defense of others on one hand, and a president fantasizing about bombing those citizens with feces on the other. One of the two definitely hates America.
Good article and I support cargo bike use, but I got a chuckle out of the photo/headline combo suggesting that a family with 2 kids feels a need for a minivan.

Also, there's a cool stereograph down lower in the article. Love to see it.

There was a group at the SLC protest today dressed in typical ICE fashion, but their vests said NICE, and they were going around smiling at everyone.
Got an unexpected request to sing at a neighbor's funeral on Monday.

Pretty sure there was a KSL chopper there, so hopefully there will be something soon.
@sltrib.com has this story top of their page. Still waiting for any coverage from KSL or Desert News. Both have a story from yesterday about heightened tensions after the tragedy in June, but not a word about today's 14 protests attended by many thousands of Utahns.

My favorite sign today had a photo from Chaplin's closing speech in The Great Dictator.

Close second was "Liberal + LDS. I'm an oxy-Mormon."
Yeah, there was a much bigger demographic spread at this one than the last one, at least from what I could see.

It was still one of the most enthusiastic chants of the day, at least from my position.
