People truly went feral during the height of the pandemic. The sharp and sudden increase in antisocial behavior was shocking, and it remains high.

Watching antisocial driver behavior in the school drop-off line makes it really clear that the pandemic destroyed whatever few shreds remained of the social compact, just pathological selfishness on display every day

Brunch of a Showgirl

• 2 oz grapefruit juice*
• 2 oz Lillet Blane
1 oz gin
• ½ oz elderflower liqueur
• 3 dashes lemon bitters
Add ingredients to cocktail shaker with ice, shake 20 seconds.
* Grapefruit can interact with certain medications! If you can't have or don't like grapefruit, substitute blood orange.

The Fate of Ophelia
• 1 ½ oz gin
• ¾ oz rosemary syrup
• ¾ oz lemon juice
• club soda
Add ice, gin, lemon juice, and rosemary syrup to a glass and stir.
Top with club soda.

Cancelled!
(Whiskey Sour)
• 2 oz bourbon
• ¾ oz lemon juice
• ½ oz sinple syrup
• 3 dashes fee foam
• Garnish: angostura bitters
Add ingredients to a shaker and dry-shake 20 seconds. Add ice and shake for 30 seconds. Pour and garnish.

Elizabeth Taylor (Chocolate Martini)
• 2 oz vodka*
• 2 oz creme de cacao
• 2 oz irish cream
Add ingredients to cocktail shake with ice, shake 20 seconds and strain.
*Can use plain or salted vanilla vodka!

The last song was what I assumed the entire album would be, but frankly I’m relieved it’s not; I think having every song on that topic would have gotten old.

I was expecting an entire album of Clara Bow & Nothing New, & I like the thematic variety she brought instead while still making it cohesive.

As of the first two listens, my top three songs are Opalite, Actually Romantic, and Cancelled, but there isn’t a single one that I didn’t enjoy.

I wanted to love Fate of Ophelia more, but the lyrics of the second verse felt a little weak to me. Still screaming the chorus at the top of my lungs.
