I am in the office at work. It is boiling. 4/4 of my colleagues are wearing jumpers. How is this possible.

The very best and most sensible kind of boss...

We're not far from a slice of society viewing all "techy people" (ugh ugh ugh) as flat-out duplicitous, which is radically unfair on the swathes of tech professionals who have been trying to avoid *gestures* all this.

So many important points in these conversations, but the erasure of cohort and social trust really is a vital concern.

"Nearly half of the 2,000 students surveyed by OUP said they were worried their classmates were “secretly using AI” for schoolwork without their teachers being able to spot it."

An interesting report by OUP surveying 2000 13 to 18 year olds in the UK this summer www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

I prefer the words to Antidepressants and you do get "singing a song while I'm happy" which is perfect

ah yes, there, well, are criminal ways within XD I suppose there IS sexual content in DMS but...that would be very incisive moderation!

Iain is singlehandedly saving this year's #bakeoff (although also special mention to Aaron who I hope sneaks up and wins at the last minute)

All the bodybuilders are forever making these but on account of hating microwaves I've never paid attention and feel sad about this now as I don't know the answer

The documentary I made with Miss Major 10 years ago is available to stream free on Vimeo. If you want to spend some time with her and her loved ones, and learn some abolitionist trans history while you're at it, updated streaming link is here: vimeo.com/whatdowewant...

Hmm, they all have a good chunk of repetition don't they? Criminal Ways is more fun than Antidepressants, perhaps that XD

We have reached it (dutifully listened to the whole album first) - can confirm it's nothing like Obsessions XD Closer to the other extra tracks than the album, maybe, great bassline, would be good live, ideally played twice as fast...

Arrived home to a further three copies of Antidepressants, I have actually lost track of where two of them came from, but one is the Japanese edition at last, so I can hear Medication on something other than Carrie's phone in an alleyway XD

Someone contacted us the other day because AI had told them that we would publish their book. We explained we're not a publisher. They were furious because AI had told them we'd do it. We explained we literally can't. They asked us to check with management because AI said we could do this.

A colleague put me forward for a speaking opportunity I hadn't imagined might be interested in my work and, early days, but they did seem extremely interested, actually, and I'm very grateful to them indeed. Academia can be wonderfully supportive in the most surprising ways.

I know this is a message for Young Liberals, not for an old fart like me, but I was leaning #Kamran4VP anyway, and this has sealed the deal

Trans Rights Are Human Rights!
Rejoin EU!
Build More Bloody Houses!
Listen to Younglings!

I approve of all these things 🖤 well done @kamhussain.bsky.social

Given everything out there, it's...yeah...not really "ramping up for the show" stuff, either...

Lee Pace in The Fall is the result of a decades-long experiment to see what happens if all the hotness for an entire generation is concentrated in the body of a single man

one of the astonishing things about working in a UK uni in the last decade is complete DISCONNECT between (on one hand) hostile media stories, ill informed govt policy, end of unis as we know them

and (on the other) the joyful work of actually talking w/students and discovering new things together

What with being from Kingston, where our main historic feature is the Coronation Stone, and we have schools and suchlike named after Æthelstan, I always found it confusing that he wasn't better-known in the rest of the country, so very much here for this.
