It’s been *totally* overcast for 6 (!) days in a row now ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

So I went back to the mountaintops this morning in search of the sun. 🏔️🇨🇭
Stunning sunset above the clouds in the Swiss Alps this evening 🏔️🇨🇭

Found another sunny spot above the clouds in the Swiss Alps today (during my lunch break). Perhaps a good reminder about life in general: “Above the clouds it is always sunny.” 🏔️🇨🇭
The top of the mountain that disappears into the clouds in this photo is where I took the above video!
Today in the Swiss Alps. I love this cloud effect over the lake. Only happens 2-3 times a year during colder months. During the winter it’s so dark & grey below the clouds (see next photo in thread), so finding the sun & blue skies on mountain tops is one of my favorite things about planet Earth. 🏔️🇨🇭
💯 agreed: how reliable? And so many other questions, eg:

* What is the net climate impact of manufacturing and operating humanoids at scale?

* What are the social ramifications of deploying these units at scale?

* Are these robots actually takling any of the world’s most pressing problems?

I remember like 10 years ago when fascism was seen by most people for what it is: criminal behavior, and not “political opinions”.
On my way from Lausanne to Berlin by train. So much more comfortable than dealing with airports and airplanes. More importantly, far better for the climate! Just 8 more hours to go 🚅 🚃🚃🚃🚃 #SlowTravel #Trains
Good find! Keen to look into this further…
Timeline moment of Zen, from last weekend in the Swiss Alps 🏔️🇨🇭
my takeaway from climate week nyc is that "climate storytelling" is a little too much "we must reimagine our deepest souls in relationship to mother nature and the moral abyss of the polycrisis into which we must now stare" and not enough "ok but get a heat pump"

Remember the part in “V For Vendetta” when the late-night comedy host gets canceled for upsetting the dictator?
From the 1878 World Fair in Paris, this solar energy concentrator could heat water and produce steam. It also produced ice. The inventor, Augustin Mouchot, also experimented with the conversion of solar energy into electricity, nearly 150 years ago!
Every billionaire is a staggering policy failure.
From 1987: SOLAR, the Sony Walkman WM-F107, was a cassette player and stereo radio powered by an integrated solar panel. It was equipped with a rechargeable battery for rainy days. #RetroSolar
Very nice! 👏 Thanks for sharing 😊
Very nice re reading light 😊

I spotted this at an exhibition in Lausanne, Switzerland. Not sure if the artist produced more than one. Here’s the full description of the solar lamp:
