Hedges Estate La Haute Cuvée 2020, Red Mountain, Washington State Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim. Nose of plums, cherries, spices, light oak, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and black pepper. Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn. This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain is drinking very nicely now. Complex, elegant and smooth. Tangy and interesting. Fruit forward, rich and feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. A nice sipping wine, good by itself or with food. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 28 months in (45% new) mostly French oak barrels with some American oak. Organic and fermented with wild yeast. Unfiltered and unfined. Vegan. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $75.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Very dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, light wood, peppercorn, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, light earth and black tea. Nice finish with grippy tannins and tangy cherries. This is a very interesting red blend from Red Mountain. Powerful and fruit forward. Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, so be patient. Feels young, especially on the palate and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Nicely balanced, and good by itself or with food. A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 20% Syrah. 13.1% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $59.

This is a gorgeous 12 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain in Washington State. Complex and fruit forward. Rich and elegant. I had a more recent vintage not too long ago, and it’s definitely better with age. This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is absolutely fantastic now. Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 7 years. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and a gorgeous nose. Loved smelling on it. The high alcohol is well integrated by now. Good by itself as a sipping wine, and paired beautifully with the delicious Wagyu Steak. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in all new French oak barrels for 20 months. 15.2% alcohol by volume. 94 points. $180.

Col Solare Winery Collector's Society Malbec 2021, Red Mountain, Washington State Deep purple in color with a short purple rim. Strong fruity nose and full bodied, with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing black plums, cooked cherries, sweet blackberries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, peppercorn, tobacco leaf and black tea. Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a very tasty Malbec from Red Mountain in Washington State. Extracted and fruit forward. Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Elegant and spicy. A good sipping wine. Rich and in your face kind of wine. A blend of 96% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in (60% New) French Oak barrels for 22 months. A small production of only 2,800 bottles. 15.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $85.
