My dad casing for steelhead trout in the saltwater shallows of Whidbey Island, as the sun sets and a Washington State Ferry glides across the background. Whidbey Island is among the rare places in the world where steelhead are regularly caught in saltwater, often within mere feet of the shore in just three to five feet of water as fish migrate toward their home rivers to spawn.
