Painting space dwarves is simultaneously a little frustrating and deeply relaxing
Also this is good practice to get over the constant urges I have to strip the paint off them and start from scratch. Which is something I struggle with in my regular art, lol.

Squats stopped existing and if you mentioned them on the official forum you got banned,now Votann. Half Eldar Ultramarine Librarian. Genestealers weren't Tyranids. Zoats.
The process -> They wanted me to use their Votann character and their NASA inspired color scheme! It worked out great! I ended up making the space behind her inspired by the art of Jack Kirby’s retro comics with a “reaching for the stars” vibe

Had my first 40k game of 2026 today! It was also the first game against a Space Marine team - the Black Templars.
It was a lot of fun! I spread out to keep him from teleporting jerks into my lines. A solid win for me! I really need to finish painting my Votann army so I look pretty at 2k points.

Rogue Trader is making me look at WH40K models as if I had money to buy them, time to paint them, or people to play it with LOL. But damn, they did improve since I last looked at the game in my teens. Some pretty cool stuff. Votann and Necrons aesthetics especially.

I'll finish my Iyanden, Votann and Trogg army all to 2k points and paint up my Bloodbowl Tomb Kings! Pretty much got the models for the first two and Tom King's on order, just a lot of painting.
