With the new transmitters there's a chance we might "miss" a few matings this year, and that seems to be the case: e.g. Tohu is nesting on Whenua Hou, but we didn't pick up a mating. There might be more too. Watch this space.... #kakapo #conservation

I was wondering why this was an image of a phrase from the Torah and yep, one member went to Jewish private school.
In case you don't know, those words read as "tohu va-vohu", which is the biblical description of the chaotic cosmos/void on the eve of creation.

Gonna be in nga rohe o Ngāi Tūhoe me Ngāti Awa for 3-4 days at the end of this week and this is how the weather is looking which I am taking as the most auspicious tohu.

Here's my test. I say, "Tohu va vohu" in a very solemn, windy* voice.
"Mean anything to you?"
They may light up with a smile & start talking, but usually they get a confused look. Either way, it's a fun example of fun poetry to discover that's in the Bible. In the beginning!*
