I also just really can’t imagine we’ll have as little end product from Saka/Noni/Eze/Ode down the stretch, and that should fix at least some of this (if fbref were still a thing I’m hopeful it would back that stance).

I think, at a certain point, the collective attacking output is so below the talent level that you have to look at Arteta rather than the individuals.
We have the players to score more in open play than Brentford. Saka has 3 NPG in 17 90s. That's worse than Gyokeres. We know he can produce more.

It's probably a 10-20 point upgrade. Compared to WC before DGW BB, it's not good enough IMO

Stats are meaningless without context though. Saka has 0 goals in the last 100 matches he hasn't scored in. That's also true. It's also pretty meaningless. They've cherry picked the different criteria to make it look as bad as possible.

Made the moves last night. 4/4 FTs. Saka, Foden, Szobo, and Guiu >> Bruno, Rogers, Rice, and Pedro. 3 long term and Pedro just a punt placeholder for Thiago in a few weeks.

I would change out Saka and Szoboszlai and leave the rest. Save the WC.

Of course this is itself a simplification and will depend heavily on how fixtures fall, but as a broad brushstrokes idea, it may have some legs. It also roughly fits my eye test (I like what I’ve seen from Nelli, Madueke and even Gyokeres in cups, but think Leo, Saka and Merino is our best front 3).

What this is telling me is; maybe we should use Saka, Merino, Trossard in the league and Gyokeres, Martinelli and Madueke in other competitions (to keep the main trio fit and fresh). Use Jesus as a rotational/sub option in all comps.
