I admit I didn't like Kantara, and although I don't want to dump on the actor because of that, honestly, Mammootty has been brilliant in the last few years. He's always been good, but lately? Brilliant. And Puzhu made my skin crawl.

Mammootty is so great in Nankapal (and Bramayugam!) ❤️ that I want to discover Puzhu (and will also discover Shetty work)

If "Puzhu" was made 40 or 30 years ago, Mammootty's character would have been treated as the hero. Times have changed for the better, but still, some are treating this character as someone who deserves pity. That shows what they are. #Puzhu #പുഴു

Finally, this role of Kuttan is Mammootty's most underrated and one of his best works to date. How he portrays that hate-filled,complex,casteist, and cruel person is really impressive; I absolutely hate his character. For me,the film felt like a horror film.
