Yeah, Felicia has some precedence. Even though I believe they're basically reacting to MJ getting more than breadcrumbs, there's enough to make this less egregious.
It also kneecaps whether Kelly's run could have attempted a "do-over" on Wells botching PeterFel.

Sorry, but at a time they had MJ leave Peter and was pushing PeterFel *SUPER* hard, along with CB Cebulski calling Gwen the love of Peter's life and downplaying MJ's importance, there was *no* way that they'd have a story that was saying Peter and MJ would "eventually" end up together.

I think they were *planning* on doing PeterFel again, but they saw the *MASSIVELY* negative reaction to that one cover and they backtracked to that nonsensical "Peter and Shay aren't exclusive" nonsense to justify them sleeping together and then forgetting about the whole thing.

I'm still salty that the only good PeterFel moment from this whole era was some random infinity comic. It's astounding how hard Marvel dropped the ball here when they dated for a whole year for the first time since like the 80s and *nothing* at all came from it...

I think the reason the Shay situation is so weird is because they had to quickly add her after the whole Michelle-again situation, only for Kelly to come on and decide to do PeterFel (if that's what that ASM solicit is implying.)
