OSRPG games, by design, reverse that, with every new monster being a terrifying new way to die and your PCs tending to be very basic, without a lot of mechanics to abuse or special powers to lean on. Very different! But a big niche that's pretty well serviced nowadays.

I kinda liken it to OSRPG gameplay versus 5e D&D gameplay
5e feels very superheroic to me. The PCs are special and have lots of special tools and they get to be the fancy guys who style on the monsters, and 5e monsters are booooring lads.
