#nomowever
More wild garden spam because if more folks did this, instead of spraying everything and mowing everything (like that matters), there would be many many more bees, butterflies and happy little critters living in these happy little eco systems.

@cumbriawildlife.bsky.social better late than never! This is our garden (and I love if so much, #NoMowEver ✌️)
The Sea Holly is coming out all purple, I’m just loving my mostly wilded garden!

And I am still writing, honest.

Summer. In a garden with no mowing. And the sun conveniently hides the mess 😎

#nomowmay I hear you say?
I’ll raise you one and say #nomowever 😂✌️
I know, baby steps. Please leave as big a patch as possible people for our precious pollinators.

May is the perfect month to start our messy mission, remember to leave a messy patch of long grass this month and join #NoMowMay 🌷🪻🌱🌿🦋

A better way to approach #NoMowMay is to replace as much of your lawn as you can with native flowers, shrubs, and trees...then it can be #NoMowEver.

Well-controlled non-natives can be included too!

Because in fact large parts of the garden are #nomowever or #nomowsummer (and the bits I am cutting back are for access or because grass is obstructing other things I would prefer to encourage.) Surely that is better? Very skeptical that giving wildlife a home for a month and taking it away is wise.
I am going to to MOW (scythe) the grass and wildflowers today, yes, in May and will still be doing more for biodiversity in the garden than many doing #nomowmay which I think was a brilliant bit of awareness raising but in practice growing things and then cutting them down one month later? 🤔😐

I love the whole #NoMowMay. I just wish it was #NoMowEver. Except for the diamond in the middle. That's a great idea! Though I understand that for meadows you need to have them chomped down at a certain point.
