They are so cute, I hope they end up together.
But I doubt that it will happen.

They decided that is time to throw subtle out of the window and I'm down for it.

Meroron does fair a bit better.

I like where her character started, and I REALLY like where it ended.

It's just the space in between where I am not sure what the show was doing with her?

Like they had a great idea for a character, they just didn't know how to get there.

This is mostly how I felt about the show too. Like, it took a lot for me to warm up to Meroron, Cure Kiss is still my favorite design of the season regardless. Only real gripe I had by the end of everything was the Heart Garden, I otherwise adored You and Idol as an introduction to Pretty Cure.

Even if the writing towards the second half was messy at times and the final arc being rushed, I’d say it’s still a very good season overall despite the flaws. Whether people like Meroron or not, I wholeheartedly agree that Meroron was the standout character despite being annoying at times. #precure

I rushed through the rest of You and Idol #prettycure that I havent watched yet (37-48) cause I wanted to finish it before moving on to Star Detective Precure which is the 2026 season. My final Verdict? It's alright at best. I wouldn't say its a standout season but it's serviceable enough.

me during the idol finale when theyre suddenly talking about duality wondering when exactly they gave exploring that aspect of meroron as darkness elemental any screentime at all

My favorite character of the season was easily Kokoro but it's pretty objectively Meroron who was the standout star of the season; though as I was saying with Reed earlier, they kinda ran out of character arc for the main trio fairly early on, and I hope that's one thing Meitantei does better.

THE PRODUCTION ISSUES ARE SO OBVIOUS!!! I would kill someone to know what they had originally planned for Meroron because I'm sure it would've gone hard as fuck
February 1, 2026 at 5:15 AM
it was a messy endgame but mannn i loved some of the plot beats and i adored the supporting cast of tanaka / cutty / zakkuri. and i kneel to whoever was the obvious wink oshi on staff. im gonna start a conspiracy theory about production issues i feel the meddling in my soul over meroron

Nana, Kokoro, Meroron & Purirun played their part too ^^ Nana figuring out what's happening, Kokoro bringing inspiration, Meroron with Uta was pretty smart as this may have taken place after her redemption & Purirun was being Purirun ^^

I didn't have a problem with the #Precure themselves at all since they did grow. Purirun and Meroron probably has the strongest subplot in this series by far (though having Cure Kiss gaining the ability to create reality marbles for battles brought back Delicious Party's lameness).

Meroron being a jealous clingy gay poet was fun but she just sort of magically transitions to being friends with everyone after a bit without having to do much and then kinda fades into the group a bit. Kokoro also sort of feels like she's there to Say The Line 5-10 times per episode in the last 3rd
January 30, 2026 at 3:14 AM
One thing that bothers me a little is I wished we gotten more of how Uta and Nana knew each other since their childhood which is sad because since most of the main characters were developed quite well (Uta, Nana and Meroron) and would argue that Meroron was better developed than Purirun. #precure 🤔🥲

Its honestly feels bittersweet because the finale and the finale battle alongside the fight choreography are one of the best in the franchise despite being rushed regarding certain plot points and certain characters since Uta, Nana and Meroron felt more developed than some realize. #precure 🤔🥲

meroron is great in a vacuum and that's why she was compelling mid-season when it was fine to leave the idol stuff aside for a bit but by the finale they can't do anything with her because it needs to say something, anything about idols
January 29, 2026 at 1:10 PM
i think there's a good argument for this, especially with how much of uta's development is caught up in the controversial kaito. my issue with meroron is that her arc also has nothing to do with idols while uta at least tries to engage with the theme further

Meroron might be the best Mentally Ill Fairy since Pikario
January 29, 2026 at 10:07 AM
I thought Meroron was more interesting than Uta

Who let Meroron have a sword?

I got the Kimi to idol #precure ‘atsumete kirarun ribon book’! I haven’t seen this anime yet but I plan to soon now it’s finished airing- it doubles as a soft intro to the characters🥰The book has a lot of fun activities and is really cute! So far, I’m most interested in Kokoro!🙌Kyunkyun~💜

+ I was willing to accept the idea that it was made for pure symbolic value of Meroron creating a safe place to fight but you know).

So yeah, not the best Precure of the ones I've seen so far sadly 😔
