4/4 I hope enough US citizens realize that there's no #freespeech or #freemedia in the #OvalOffice, there's no actual answers given by #trump (ever); nor are enough critical #questions being asked. Is that a #democracy?

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

#LessonsFromThePast we should never forget

Elon Musk is requesting all the IRS data so he can see all the taxes everybody has paid.

One of the first things the Nazis did was go through Social Security data and find everybody who had never worked.

They then murdered every disabled person who hadn't.

Walking through #Dachau was an experience beyond words. It was raw, real, and unbearably silent. A testament to suffering that should never be repeated.

Never again. Not here, not now, not ever.

#LessonsFromThePast ignored, forgotten or,worse, even deliberately imitated
Listening to James O’Brien talk to Laurence Rees (writer of The Nazi Mind: 12 Warnings From History) is terrifying. The parallels between now and then are stark. Dehumanisation of targeted groups, using conspiracy theories to propel propaganda. Playing on innate fears. It’s happening again.

When Governments Do This, It Never Ends Well

History repeats itself. Mass arrests, deportations, security crackdowns—we’ve seen this before. What happened next? What do you think?

freedoms & democracy are easier to lose than they ever are to gain
Italy's parliament granted Benito Mussolini and his National Fascist Party dictatorial powers for a year #onthisday in 1922. Nothing harmful in that, of course! Surely he'd give them up after that? 🙄 #BadEurope

You’ve given a comprehensive history lesson as well as how history reflects on the present.

It’s exactly what we need to be reminded of and how we must react.

You have said everything and done it perfectly.

Growing Corn in the Desert, No Irrigation Required
The surreal sight of squash, melons and corn sprouting from the sandy ground reflects an ancient farming technique that’s newly relevant.
