Trump is starting another 30-year war.
Nigeria has 232 million people, about 110 million Christians.
US troops would just inflame the clan wars with Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani, similar to trying to occupy Afghanistan.
And we'll soon have a lot of dead American soldiers.
For no reason.

Trump says US troops could be on the ground in Nigeria and says, "they're killing record numbers of Christians in Nigeria, and they have other countries also. You know that. That part of the world. Very bad. They're killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. Not gonna allow that"

#Nigeria is a lawless mess and it has been for a very long time.
Christians are killed in high numbers by extremist groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, and radicalized Fulani militants, as part of a broader security crisis that also affects Muslims.

I dunno but seems weird to write an article transcribing trump’s saber rattling without bothering to give any factual context to the claims.

For as long as I can remember, there has always been someone keen to shoehorn the Fulani herder conflict into a GWOT framework so we would intervene on the side of the Christians in Nigeria.
Guess one of them got Trump's ear.

Fulani Militants Kill Over 30 in Mangu Communities – Missionary
A pastor serving as a missionary in Bwai District of Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, has narrated how suspected Fulani militants carried out a series of coordinated attacks on several communities, killing more than 30 people and razing houses and food stores. In a video shared on social media platforms on Tuesday, the visibly shaken clergyman described the assault as “the most devastating thing” he had ever witnessed, saying the gunmen invaded the affected areas in their hundreds, shooting indiscriminately at men, women, and children before setting homes ablaze.
