how this relates to oc/rp is that ffxiv is i think my first exposure to a fandom where infinite ship possibilities exist, thus having a significant amount of "shipping discourse". in my previous fandoms i feel like everyone kind of agreed on ships, with one or two main schools of thought

i've always enjoyed creating stories but as a rule kept them to myself. ffxiv is really my only venture into an oc/rp focused fandom. some of my previous fandoms were doctor who, danganronpa, persona, kamen rider, kingdom hearts.

So today I was thinking about instead of making a second character as my RP character, what if I went ahead and gave Maeka a backstory and then tell stories through her? I already have somewhat of a backstory for her because of roleplaying in FFXIV.

One thing I absolutely fucking hate in the FFXIV RP scene is grown ass adults who cannot take disinterest/refusal as a no and instead try harder to push people into ERP. Like, fuck off. You disgust me.
