the wording today is a bit vague, but it looks like the EU and China have agreed on some kinda minimum import prices for each brand, which will likely allow the current tariffs to be scrapped

If you add up sales of just 3 of BYD's mid-range models - the Seal, Tang & Han - which all overlap with the Model 3 and Y on price, you will see that BYD is easily outselling Tesla in China

BYD should not be dismissed as a maker of cheap/small EVs

Like Citroën, Tesla created ultra-inspiring products that allowed the masses to glimpse the future... while simultaneously unleashing innovation that would ultimately leave it behind. Citroën's technological advantages became "table stakes" for everyone who followed it, and the true competitive advantages went to companies like Toyota, whose pragmatism took Citroën's vision and refined it into less exciting but more useful mobility appliances.
