How do you tell what Firmware is Legit ? Software always have vouches, Discord chats and 3h trials etc - so i feel like i can pretty much tell if its a scam or not. finding it harder for EAC / fort...

I'm having a hard time just digging up a list of games that use EOS for cross play, but I know Dauntless used it, and it worked fine for me on Kubuntu until EAC. To my knowledge, EOS doesn't break Linux compatibility, but Easy Anti Cheat (which Epic also owns) can be configured to block Linux.

seems to be fixed now, at least i've heard that from some linux users & it worked for me this morning. Some kind of EAC server side issue is what the suspected problem was. Regardless - very happy it's up and running again.

What to bring: an outline of your contribution with enough detail to give us a concrete sense of what your piece will address, how it’ll work, and what it might look like. What do we need to know in order to give you useful feedback? If you have specific visual references, bring those. If your piece will adopt a specific graphic form — a diagram, a bureaucratic form, a particular arrangement of image and text — bring a rough sketch. Please bring a laptop or tablet to share your work in a small group setting — or, if you prefer, (5-7) hard copies to distribute. You’re also welcome to bring 🍩food and 🍹drinks (and cups and napkins) to share! AGENDA Welcome + Overview We’ll talk briefly about how our peer review working group (Cen, Elaine, Hannah, Nicole — thank you!) has aimed to design this process to offer multiple rounds of generative, supportive feedback in multiple formats — honestly, much more support than you’d get with a traditional peer-review or editorial process 😉 3:15 - 3:30: Design Overview Elaine will share a publication mock-up to give us a sense of the overall format, scale, and materiality of the publication — which will both provide helpful parameters and create a sense of what’s possible 3:30 - 5pm-ish: Small Group Review Sessions 🔗Group Notes — each group has its own tab We’ll organize you into groups of four or five. You’ll decide on an order of presentation. Someone should agree to serve as group timekeeper. When that person is busy with their own presentation, they can delegate to someone else. The person who has just shared their work takes notes for the next person on deck: #5 takes notes for #1, #1 takes notes for #2, and so forth. Each person gets a total of 15 minutes. After each presentation, take a two-minute break to allow the presenter to review, amend, and clean up their notes while the comments are still fresh in their mind — and to allow the next presenter to prepare. Schedule a longer, ten-minute break somewhere in the middle of your group’s rounds. When it’s your turn to present: Limit yourself to five minutes of “presentation” to maximize time for discussion. Your group timekeeper should give you a one-minute warning. Start by… explaining where you are right now in your process: have you just (finally!) homed in on a focus, are you conducting primary research, are you working on drafts?; describing the intent behind your project: are you making an argument, telling a story, cultivating an aesthetic experience, etc.; and explaining what kind of feedback would be helpful for you at this stage Now, use your remaining time to walk your colleagues through your project. When you’re offering feedback to others: Start by describing what you think works well Now, respond to the presenter’s prompts and questions Consider how the project “hangs together” and how the format of the project — a traditional essay, a fantasy assignment, a photo collage, etc — serves the author’s argument or expressive purpose Try to summarize — humbly and generously— what you see in the project, what you think it has to offer, what you think the argument is, what contribution you think it’s making (to the collection, to the contributor’s field of study or practice, etc). When we’re in the vulnerable interim stages of creation, we don’t always see the full potential and value of our work; it often takes generous readers and reviewers to help us appreciate the worth and ambition of our contributions :) Extra: Consider how the project exemplifies “misfit” and complements the collection Consider how the project practices “cross-reference” and generous citation Offer gentle caveats when warranted. When you’re receiving and processing feedback: Try to maximize your listening and absorbing time, and cluster your responses — and defenses! — or save them until the last few minutes Try to think about your colleagues’ feedback as a gift of their time, attention, and expertise If you hear competing responses or contradictory advice, ask the group (or Shannon!) to help you think through a means of reconciliation You needn’t accept and/or incorporate all recommendations; you can reject advice that contradicts your principles or simply doesn’t feel right! But you’d do well to consider what might have inspired a particular misreading or off-base comment — and find a gentle way to prevent (or purposefully invite!) similar, future disconnects in your final submission 5pm-ish: Break During the break, please take a couple minutes to ensure that your entry on our publication spreadsheet accurately captures your plans. 5:15 - 5:30: Small Group Share-Backs We’ll ask each group to take a couple minutes to report back to the full group.
