Picked up this little beeper with a splay leg, Im hoping to correct or at least mitigate with a tape splint.

Scale is hard to judge, in this kind of picture, but the little guy's slightly smaller than a hen's egg. They grow so fast! At hatching they're about the size of a medium grape.

Fun Fact Friday! Coturnix quail eggs have a higher yolk-to-white ratio and are more nutrient dense than chicken eggs. They mature extremely fast and can start laying eggs in as little as 6-8 weeks laying up to 300 eggs per year, with some hens laying once or even twice daily.

My Coturnix quail started laying at 6 weeks and haven’t stopped since! 🥚 They’ll produce for about a year before slowing down. With good feed and light, you’ll enjoy a steady supply of tiny, golden eggs. 🐥

I would also like to crossbreed Standard-size White Guineacocks with Jumbo Pearl Gray Guineahens as well as Standard-size White Texas A&M Coturnix Quail cocks with Jumbo Coturnix Quail hens! Of course, I'm gonna need a bigger coop as well as a separate waterfowl 🦆 coop! (10/07/19)

Not even chickens... *waits till she looks at him* They're Coturnix quail babies. Happy belated birthday, little sun. *smiles*

I had button quail some years ago. Ridiculous creatures. I do miss their calls. Coturnix quail are pretty annoying, in comparison.
