The service is terrible, completely unreliable. Buses are frequently late or cancelled altogether. And the tracking app is useless. Other countries get their public transport right. Why can't Ireland?

The #CorkCity 208 #BusÉireann bus didn't arrive as scheduled this morning on Bridge Street (the stop just before St. Patrick's Street) at 8.04; all the way until about 8.56! Bus Éireann lets down so many people trying to get to jobs in the morning, it's an absolute joke. #Cork #Ireland #SpéirGhorm

If you have wheels and can read the Buseireann map, there is good value with big city conmectivity when living outside town boundaries. Better broadband in Ireland than in much of the States. Less drama. Safer schools.

Last Saturday @irrsofficial organised a day trip to @WSVRailway in Waterford to travel over the full length of their railway to Bilberry. We travelled to/from Dublin by @irishrail and transfer to the WSVR at Kilmeaden was by @buseireann

Every morning it's the same old song & dance with #BusÉireann in #Cork. You can't expect the 208 #bus on Bridge Street after 8am, as Google Maps would have you expect. It goes from a scheduled time of 8.04am to delay, after delay... While 2 bus drivers park & have breakfast somewhere. #Ireland #TFI
