A little Christmas gift for the molecular biology nerds! I love the simplicity of this idea: very useful (and small) plasmid selection system that alleviates the need for antibiotics in molbio and bioprocesses. Elegant work by my former PhD student, lab, and colleagues: doi.org/10.1021/acss...
tRNA-Mediated Plasmid Stabilization for Antibiotic-Free Applications in Escherichia coli
Plasmids are essential tools in molecular biology and biotechnology. In research laboratories, it is common to use antibiotic selection markers to ensure that plasmids are stably maintained in a cellu...

Data-driven Bayesian estimation of Monod kinetics () In this paper, we consider the well known problem of non-linear identification of the rates of the reactions involved in cells with Monod functions. In bioprocesses, generating data is very expensive and long and so it is important to i

Hmm, I mght be forgetting school chemistry.. any hot enough burning produces nitroget oxides, no? So do many bioprocesses and that's why even "lifeforms" are contribuing to greenhouse effect - e.g. cultivated soil. Probably why biofuels aren't considered "neutral".
But H2 leakage is just dangerous.

## Automated Microbial Metabolic Flux Prediction and Optimization using Hybrid Spectral Deconvolution and Reinforcement Learning (HS-RL)
**Abstract:** Real-time monitoring of microbial metabolic states is critical for optimizing bioprocesses. Current methods often lack the speed, accuracy, and predictive capabilities necessary for dynamic control. This paper proposes Hybrid Spectral Deconvolution and Reinforcement Learning (HS-RL), a novel system for real-time prediction and optimization of microbial metabolic flux distributions based on Raman spectral data and a reinforcement learning agent. HS-ML leverages non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) for rapid spectral deconvolution of multiple metabolic components into singular integrand representations, enabling dynamic flux estimation.
