Borrowing from the Museum collection again for today’s #ArchiveAdventCalendar theme – some splendid Christmas crackers handmade by patients of Claybury Hospital in the 1980s as part of the Occupational Therapy department. The department made & sold 6000 crackers each year! 🎀

#ArchiveAdventCalendar theme 16 is #WarmFire. Dunblane's historic Leighton Library from 1687 rule for Keeper was light fire once a week in winter. Another rule was not to permit “persones to haunt the Library but such as come with a purpose to read” 🤓
