millions of people consider cis to be a slur so i frankly don’t give a shit

and i’ve read articles form afrolatines from the 90s that talk about its usage so it’s neither recent nor an anglophone invention

conversely it was coined by afrolatines who do not want their existence policed by a gendered language. the fact that it doesn’t work with spanish *is* the point

okay....? and i identify as mixed starting from when i was 18 or race doesn't apply. a lot of latines select white or mixed or decline. afrolatines and indigenous latines that live in the USA will tell u those shits are restrictive

in other latinamerican countries where there are way more afrolatines or black african immigrants you definitely see how bad racism is towards black people in particular very easily

lmao got kicked out of a BIPOC-only Facebook group today for not being Black and obsequious enough to the modmins who insist there is only one way to be Black and anyway you wonder why afrolatines and biracial people stick together?

Clarification - the Latin- terms haven't just excluded Afrolatines and Natives, they've also been used in attempts to dissolve those identities and cultures into a "national identity" adding to why they are frought

I want to see how far this reaches. AfroLatines, RT with who in your family has never seen true representation. #AfroLatinosExist #AfrolatinosExistimos
