For my Route 21 encounter, I managed to catch a Tangela. For a Gen 1 grass type, it’s actually pretty bulky and hard hitting specially. I named him Huu, after the plant bending swamp bender from Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

This also isn't getting into FRLG being hard against pre-NatDex, post-Gen 1 evos because the game shuts down some of them like Crobat, whereas I *think* Gen 2 can allow it with the likes of the Move Reminder for Piloswine and Tangela for instance
