A transverse flower fly resting on top of a wildflower. It is facing down left. The fly is mostly brown, with yellow markings on top if its body, which make it appear to be some kind of bee. The wings are transparent.

Milkweed can be distracting…I noticed several generations of oleander aphids, and then I saw a syrphid fly laying eggs. I kept looking at the milkweed leaves and found some more aphids (not sure of species but darker than oleander aphids) with a syrphid fly larvae going to town. #aphids #syrphidfly
