How FAIR is shared data in psychology?

We analyzed 11,384 datasets (2013–2024): They're findable, but less reusable!

What relates most to differences in FAIRness? #Repository choice.

1/7🧵Ignoring race, gender & income doesn’t deliver fairness—it deepens inequity. 🚫
Policies that erase demographic data in admissions don’t level the field. They hide barriers and advantage those already holding resources. Check out the evidence below!

And what does this mean for the broader academic ecosystem, which relies on citations not only as a measure of scholarly impact but as a means to trace the foundational lineage of ideas? #SciSci.

SciSci… interesting topic I just came across with your post. It proposes to study the interdisciplinary relationship among different sciences in order to further promote collaboration, discovery, etc.

🌏 In this #ScienceMap each dot represents a researcher's field & publication topic profile. From this viewpoint, science appears as a circular configuration of stakes in knowledge space, with both epistemic gaps & overlaps among disciplines. #scisci #metascience #philsci #sociology #researchpolicy 🧪
🧵 Does science look like a sprinkle donut? 🍩👀 In our latest paper with @yannrenisio.bsky.social we map the epistemological tastes of scientists by identifying the main dichotomies in scientific knowledge — Culture–Nature, Life–Non-life, and Materials–Methods. 🔗 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

On AI-mediated scientific communication.

It seems that many researchers implicitly assume that scientific writing and communication are not inherent to the science and/or the research process but are simply tools for conveying its outcomes.

In that spirit, within #SciSci, critiques of navel-gazing may often target those studying people (e.g., retracted scientists, postdocs, students, academics) rather than processes (e.g., peer review, idea generation).

Welcome to the scisci//fifi
You can just add “space” to any word or phrase to make it sci/fi, just like you can add “cyber” to make anything sci/fi.

That’s why cyberspace is so powerful: it’s double sci/fi.

To end, we need more studies, experiments like the above, but also observational studies, from the #SciSci community, such as on AI's prevalence in predatory publishing.

Let's move beyond the hype around #AI4Science, focus on integrating AI responsibly, and address its limitations openly.

Now out in PNAS, we provide a conceptual framework for assessing replication decisions and replication reform.

Do you view the scientific literature as a "book of truths" or a "book of conversations"?
