Woooo, Oban Star Racers mentioned! It tends to show up in the weirdest of places. Like, I remember seeing a really good recreation of the MC ship in Robocraft a long time ago (2014-ish).

Man, after commenting this, I incidentally searched "robocraft" on bluesky because I remembered it as a game that struggled to succeed in a f2p live-service economy and I just found out that the studio behind it shut down effective today. Man, that's sad.

Yes, there's Procelio and Diode Arena but it's not as talked about as Robocraft was while its servers were still up -- especially when its popularity peaked between 2014-2016, and I doubt Procelio and Diode could even be able to get that level of attention today 🤖

Robocraft is the only competitive game I have ever been really into. And I was like solidly ok.
Good enough that playing with other players who were worse was a minor frustration.
Which is a lot better than I have been at any other competitive game. I guess other than warcraft 3 custom games.

Robocraft is the only competitive game I have ever been really into. And I was like solidly ok.
