Anyone want to help out with testing #OeufGame? I'm getting stuff ready on steam as we speak! It needs testing! (Also if anyone wants to help with translations - there isn't so much text in the game so it shouldn't be too horrendous ) .

I wanted today for #oeufgame to tart up the title screen, without it becoming the design equivalent of a purple passage - I think dynamically loading the world in the background might be an ok balance of janky and fancy?

Task for today - try to remake the starting area. It was the first bit of the game I worked on, and I haven't touched it since then. It's ok but a bit cramped. Thankfully, there's lots of empty space to expand into :) #oeufgame #godotengine

I tried out having distant checkpoints be blobs of light (nearby, as in the screenshot, they are columns of light), but I'm not sure I like the visual noise they add to the distant silhouette. And the game is linear anyway...hmm... #oeufgame #godotengine

Tried playing around adding normal mapping, but the differences really weren't worth it... (I couldn't really make them properly readable as normal maps, and they added a lot of visual noise) #oeufgame #godotengine

Rearranged the world again today - now it wraps around the big hill in the background, and the world has a lot more shape! (I also turned off DOF, deciding that being able to see juicy details in the distance is quite nice!) #godotengine #oeufgame
