This image captures a tranquil dawn at the Ocean View Fishing Pier in Norfolk, Virginia. Known as one of the longest freestanding fishing piers in North America, stretching 1,690 feet into the Chesapeake Bay, it serves as a central landmark for the Ocean View community.

A "cotton candy" palette of soft lavenders, deep blues, and hazy pinks dominates the horizon. The clouds are feathered and wispy, catching the first filtered light of the rising sun.

Located at the northern end of Norfolk, this area offers a more relaxed, "local" alternative to the high-energy Virginia Beach oceanfront. Because it faces the Chesapeake Bay rather than the open Atlantic, the waves are typically much calmer, making it a favorite spot for photographers looking to capture smooth, long-exposure reflections.

A maximum of 50 applications will be accepted! This program through the City of Norfolk’s Department of Neighborhood Services provides financial assistance and other resources to eligible Norfolk renters who are facing eviction.

The Governor of Virginia has declared a State of Emergency as SNAP benefits may lapse starting November 1 if the federal shutdown isn’t resolved by October 28.
