3) patron deity: she doesn't really have one? she was raised to venerate nature by her mother, and any native Bozjan religion likely would have been suppressed by the Garleans that took over when she was a child. she respects Nophica+Thaliak the most of the Twelve, but doesn't really worship them.

As Sorg started on Gridania, he was at first apprehensive-neutral to them. He kept that stance until he met Nophica, who told him they were just doing what they were intended to do. His stance changed to fully neutral then.

my brain is also still cooking on why padjal are Like That, i think they're made by Nophica specifically to be able to interface with the Elementals but WHY are their traits the way they are. it might be a while before my brain decides. but i have confidence it'll be good once it does settle

They are a set strength, and don't get stronger with each rejoining. It's possible Hydaelyn advised Nophica on how strong to make them. I don't think it's a coincidence that it's the last Rejoining before the WoL's rise to power after which the Elementals are outclassed by their surroundings.
