We also get a touching reunion between Namor and his father, Captain Leonard McKenzie. But then a battle breaks out, and McKenzie saves Namor at the cost of his own life. A lot of loss for Namor in this issue! #marvel #namorthesubmariner

I thought the first panel showed Zzzax, but apparently it’s a coral beast called Leviathan. And I like the efficiency of the second panel, where Namor is exiled AND has to fight off a usurper to the throne, all summarized in one frame! #marvel #namorthesubmariner

A lot of these stories are pretty bizarre, but one of the strangest is Namor falling in love with a marine biologist who steals Neptune’s second trident and turns into a mermaid to get revenge on Namor for inadvertently killing her father. #marvel #namorthesubmariner

Half the Namor stories are his losing his people. Half the stories are him being reunited as crowned Emperor again. And half the stories are Atlantis being invaded by someone challenging Namor for the throne. It happens twice in this issue alone! #marvel #namorthesubmariner

There’s an entire wedding to Lady Dorma, but it’s actually Llyra in disguise. She has Dorma imprisoned, and she’s going to kill Dorma just to punish Namor. And that’s how Namor’s wedding day became the day he watched his true love die. #marvel #namorthesubmariner
