🌱 I love community plant groups. I got a free crepe myrtle (I absolutely love them) that a lady had already spent three years growing and tending. She just flat out didn't have room for it. Don't worry, it will be lovingly tended in my yard. 🥰 #gardening #NTexas

🌱 No pictures cause I'm lazy, but the fall green beans have started to pop! And for first time, I've done a fall planting of tomatoes (pulled the spring determinates when they were done, planted new in July). The Celebrity plants are growing like crazy, the Roma... not so much. 😬 #gardening #NTexas

🌱 It's too hot to plant anything now, and we are in the "let's just survive the summer" part of the year. Fall veggies are in and covered with shade cloth, native plants are doing their thing, so what do I do? Start planning for more beds. Cardboard and mulch time! #gardening #NTexas

🌱 The summer heat is most definitely here. I need to put up my shade cloth. I also put up 12 more pints of pickles and have pretty much come to the end of the cucumber vines. I'm going to pull those soon, let the bed rest for a little bit, then sow winter squash. #gardening #NTexas

Question for #gardening feed, specifically those that attempt pumpkin vines in a raised bed: how big is your raised bed, does it contain the vines, and what do you do to keep them contained, if not?

🌱 hot day working in the garden (but downright pleasant if you are sitting in the shade!). I finally moved my last raised garden bed because I harvested all of the onions this morning. Emptied my compost bin into the "new" bed so it can do its thing between now and next spring. #gardening #NTexas

Okay 🌱, onion question. This is only my second year growing onions. I know I'm supposed to wait until the leaves flop over and begin to yellow before pulling. One or two of the onions have done so, but these aren't ready to harvest yet, right? #gardening #NTexas
