Burmese military airstrike in Bleet Dawei (aka Tenasserim) in Southern part of Burma, 14 October 2025, destroyed a building and injured civilians. The Burmese military has been escalating airstrikes and offensives in Kawthoolei Karen areas as well as across Burma ahead of their sham elections.

The overview map from Committee for Internally Displaced Karen People for April 2025 shows that there are now 1,171,387 IDPs which includes 44,618 newly displaced people.
Significant increases reported in Kler Lwee Htu (Brigade 3) and Dooplaya (Brigade 6) districts.
Update from  COMMITTEE FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED KAREN PEOPLE Monthly Highlight Has map of Karen state with numbers of IDPs in each districts & table odd numbers over time. April 2025 saw a further increase in the number of Intemally Displaced People (IDPs) across the seven districts of Kawthoolei. A total of 44,618 newly displaced people has been recorded. Significant increases have been reported in Kler Lwee Htoo (3) and Dooplaya (6) Districts. A total of 1,476 newly displaced people were recorded in Taw Oo (2) District during the reporting period. All of these come from the Pa Shaw Palo Village tract in Daw Pha Koh Township and fled after SAC troops launched an assault on several villages and set fire to several houses and a religious building. Kler Lwee Htoo District in Eastern Bago continues to see the highest number of IDPs across Kawthoolei. An additional 21,992 people were displaced between Hsaw Hti and Mone Townships during the reporting period, bringing the total number up to 472,201 across the district. Fighting in Ka Ser Doh Township in the Mergui-Tavoy District saw the displacement of 4,450 people from seven communities. The 2nd half of April 2025 saw the start of a Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)-led offensive against military installations between (Kyondo) and (Kawkareik) along the Asian Highway 1 (AH1). As a result, residents from nine village tracts in northern Dooplaya District have fled their homes, leading to approximately 17,996 newly displaced persons across the district. As fighting and airstrikes are increasing, it can be anticipated that more communities along the AH1 will be displaced in the coming weeks and months.

20 civilians have been killed by the Burmese military airstrikes and artillery shells in Kawthoolei (Karen) area, during the period of 2-22 April 2025, where the Burmese military announced ceasefire during this period.

Karen Women's Organization (KWO) History Forward KWO's Forty year journey almost as old as me. KWO was founded just four years after I was born, and I see it as a reflection of my own path. Like me, KWO was born in isolation under revolutionary conditions, constrained by conservative views of the time with limited roles for women. KWO supports women and girls throughout our life starting in the womb, through childhood and student life, to becoming young leaders, pregnant mothers, and grandmothers. KWO nurtures and uplifts women at every stage . The transformation of KWO from being an organization primarily made up of revolutionary leadership wives to one focused on social work, in- clusivity, and leadership by women of all ages and backgrounds is ex- traordinary, Today, KWO embraces diversity, speaks out on human rights issues, and has become a feminist organization a truly phenomenal evolution. While this "40-Year Journey" highlights KWO's overall progress, it doesn't fully capture the depth of activities. KWO's strength today is built upon the dedication and hard work of thousands of women on the ground in districts, townships, village tracts, and camps. These grass- roots women are the foundation of KWO's success. Guided by a robust institutional framework of constitutions, policies, and procedures, they continue to serve and uplift our communities with unwavering commit- ment. メラモークロー難民キャンプ（カレン語、タイ語:メラモールワン難民キャンプ）
#カレン民族同盟 ( #KNU )の総司令部マナプロウが陥落し、
そのおおよそ３ヵ月後、タイ側にできた最初の難民キャンプ。

メーサリアンからバイクで約６時間ぐらいかけてそのキャンプ
に辿り着き、数日間住み込んでいた。

驚いたことに、そこでは、子どもたちが #加藤博 さんの
『地図にない国 KAWTHOOLEI』と『東南アジア通信』を
眺めていたこと。
びっくり。

In 1988 the Burmese military junta responded to an uprising by gunning down 14,000 students in the streets. Many survivors, like this young man, fled to the jungle to join ethnic rebel armies. KNLA HQ, Kawthoolei, Karen State, Burma.
