지금까지 유인매표소/여행자센터 등에서 유인/대면교환만 가능했던 JR전국 패스가 26/4/1부터 #재팬레일패스 .net 인터넷구입 한정으로 지정석판매기에서 직접 발매가 가능해진다고 합니다. (지금은 지역패스만 가능) 이미 보급이 꽤 진행된 동일본 신형 발매기 기준이라는데, 기사가 동일본 지역패스 개편/인상 관련이라 그 얘기만 있을뿐 전국표준으로 가는거라 동시에는 몰라도 확대되긴 할듯?

The Shirayuki is a great illustration of one of the most annoying parts of the #JapanRailPass: it travels for about ten minutes along private railway ETR, who collect ¥640 (cash only!) from you at the station.

Why this can’t be included as a rounding error in the pass price continues to baffle me.

Pulled my first reservation change of the trip — I was awake early, so started my southbound journey about 90 minutes earlier than planned.

That’s one of the great things about the #JapanRailPass: just walk into any ticket office and change your reservations, for free, zero handling or refund fee.

Today I start a 7-day #JapanRailPass, in which I will be going up to Sapporo, down to Fukuoka and many places in between.

Here’s my stack of seat reservations… with record snow and wintry weather in some places, let’s see how many hold!

That’s the beauty of the pass, though: backup options…

Sapporo, you were super cute but you need to shovel your icy damn sidewalks, what the hell.
