"The IGWG further agreed, subject to further consultation and confirmation at the opening of the IGWG3, with regard to its method of work, to invite Relevant Stakeholders (Annexes A-E) to observe discussions of the IGWG3, as a pilot, in relation to the drafting and negotiation of the PABS Annex."

Apparently some countries are not too keen "to invite Relevant Stakeholders (Annexes A–E) to observe discussions of the IGWG3, as a pilot". Let's see what happens on Monday, 3 November 2025. @who.int

And, we welcome the move to allow relevant stakeholders to be observers during IGWG3 in November. Looking forward to the work to come!

📜Before closing, the IGWG approved the meeting report and next steps.

There will be an informal meeting of States and Experts on 6-10 October. Stakeholder engagement TBD.

Actual negotiations will only begin later this year (IGWG3 on 3-7 November & IGWG4 on 1-5 December).
