Aiming to save transportation costs I walked for a few kilometers to Gokokuji (護国寺) station after supper and discovered a beautiful buddhist temple of the same name as the station. I paid my respects there as a christian. Prayer for peace shall be universal regardless of religions, right?

The spoils of Gokokuji Antique Flea Market (¥1700) and one impulse buy in Asakusa (¥1100). I’m going to dismantle them and figure out what I can make with them. I have some ideas but it’ll really depend on how much fabric I have and how machine-washable of it is.

土曜日に伺った護国寺の群林堂。
なんと言っても豆大福が有名ですが、通年で出ているもうひとつの定番が「かのこ」。

粒あんの美味しさをシンプルに感じられます。

群林堂

8:00前に家を出て護国寺へ、目当ては群林堂でした。
東京三大大福の中でも筆頭にあげる方が多いですね。

豆大福3個とかのこを2個、硬くなる前に食べておきたくて、近くの公園でひとつ頂きました。

私が小さい頃に父がよく買ってきてましたが、当時は和菓子が苦手でほとんど食べてなかったんです。
あんこはしっかり甘いけど、厚めの餅とたっぷりの豆でちょうど良いバランス。さすがです。
